Thermal transfer ribbon is a roll-shaped black film strip used in barcode label printers that carry out thermal transfer printing, the protective layer is three layers, such as polyethylene film and solid ink layer. The solid ink layer is adhered to the polyethylene film. The thermal head of the barcode printer is in contact with the protective layer of the film. The heated thermal head heats the film on the protective layer, making the solid ink liquid and transferring it onto the label paper . This is how thermal transfer printing occurs. Basically, the ribbons are divided into three; Wax Ribbon, Wax-Resin Ribbon and Resin. These are grouped among themselves according to the thermal heads of barcode printers.
