Tyvek® Tag Label

Product Code: 6001 — Non‑adhesive synthetic hang tag

General Description

Tyvek® is a 100% synthetic material made of high‑density spunbond polyethylene fibers, manufactured by DuPont.
It is lightweight, durable and breathable, while resisting water, abrasion, bacterial penetration and aging.
These properties enable a wide range of improvements across many industries.

Structures

  • Hard structure: For HomeWrap®, envelopes and medical packaging applications
  • Soft structure (fabric‑like surface): For protective apparel and consumer applications

Why Tyvek®?

  • Water repellency: When fibers are bonded under heat and pressure they behave like a thermoplastic—forming a dense, semi‑solid structure that prevents liquid penetration.
  • Breathability: No binders are used; micro‑pores remain and allow water vapor to pass while blocking liquid water and other fluids.
  • Barrier protection: The continuous filament structure inherently resists microbial penetration and helps block hazardous particles such as asbestos, mold, fiberglass and lead.
  • Recyclability: 100% recyclable; products made from it can find a second life in items such as park benches and playground equipment.
  • Printability: Like paper, compatible with most conventional and digital processes including UV inkjet, latex and letterpress.

Applications

  • Outdoor‑resistant hang/swing tags
  • Garment hang tags designed to withstand heavy wash cycles
  • Packaging, logistics and industrial identification

Printing

  • Thermal Transfer (TT): Printable with wax or wax‑resin ribbons.
  • Digital/Conventional: High‑quality results with UV inkjet, latex and letterpress.
