Barcode Printer Ribbons
Thermal transfer ribbon is a roll-shaped black film strip used in barcode label printers that print thermal transfer printing. There are three layers as protective layer, polyethylene film and solid ink layer. The solid ink layer is attached to the polyethylene film. The thermal head of the barcode printer is in contact with the protective layer of the film. The heated thermal head heats the film on the protective layer, making the solid ink liquid and transfers it to the label paper. This is how thermal transfer printing is formed. Basically, ribbons are divided into three as Wax Ribbon, Wax-Resin Ribbon and Resin. These are grouped among themselves according to the thermal heads of barcode printers.
