Fragile Eggshell and Onion Skin Label

PRODUCT CODE: 901 (Eggshell) · 904 (Onion Skin) · FRAGILE LABEL

Product

Self-destructing (fragile) surfaces are a smart solution for revealing tampering attempts and preventing label reuse. Depending on the application, the surface material can be a highly fragile film or paper.

Applications and Use

The product is designed with a high priority on tamper evidence. Its heavily filled surface layer is extremely brittle and thin—making it difficult to lift from the edges—yet its compliant/semi-squeezable structure prevents accidental breakage after application. The special combination of surface and adhesive typically causes the label to break into very small pieces when removed, ensuring complete destruction.

Fragile labels break apart like eggshells or onion skin when an attempt is made to remove them from the applied surface, leaving label residue on the box. This reveals that the box has been tampered with. Depending on the application, the label material can be either paper or film.

Adhesive

General-purpose permanent acrylic. The adhesive is characterized by high initial tack, excellent adhesion, and good low-temperature performance on a wide variety of surfaces.

Adhesive Code: 13

Water-Based Acrylic Adhesive: Water-based acrylic adhesive is the most preferred standard adhesive for general barcode label applications. If you do not require an aggressive adhesive and the surface you are applying to is not rough, a standard acrylic adhesive will be suitable for you. It offers high bonding strength, excellent surface adhesion, and ideal performance at low temperatures.
