General Description
Class 1 (Explosives) hazard labels are mandatory markings for the international transport of
materials with explosion hazards such as ammunition, fireworks, signal flares, primers, detonators,
and airbag inflators. Produced with opaque polypropylene (PP) face stock and a strong tyre
(rubber) adhesive, EGEN labels provide secure adhesion on painted, steel, fiber, and plastic surfaces.
- Durability: Compliant with the design and durability standards of 49 CFR, ICAO, and other international air regulations.
- Fade- and weather-resistant face stock; high adhesion strength.
- Supports your compliance with DOT requirements.
Division 1.1 – Mass Explosion Hazard
Includes explosives capable of causing a mass explosion; in an explosion, nearly the entire load is affected at once.
PP face + strong rubber adhesive; high adhesion on steel, fiber, plastic, and painted surfaces. 49 CFR / ICAO compliant; meets DOT standards.
Division 1.2 – Projection Hazard, No Mass Explosion
There is a projection (fragment) risk, but a mass explosion is not expected.
EGEN Division 1.2 labels, with PP + strong tyre adhesive, are suitable for challenging surfaces. Compliant with 49 CFR, ICAO, and relevant air transport standards; helps meet DOT requirements.
Division 1.3 – Fire Hazard
May cause fire; blast effect is lower. Limited projection may occur, and a mass explosion is not expected.
PP face + rubber-based high-tack adhesive; compatible with steel/fiber/plastic/painted surfaces. 49 CFR / ICAO compliant; long-lasting print and fade resistance.
Division 1.4 – Minor Explosion Hazard
Has a slight explosion risk with effects confined to the package; significant external blast/fire is not expected.
EGEN Division 1.4 labels are produced with PP and strong tyre adhesive; adhere firmly to various surfaces. Compliant with 49 CFR and ICAO standards; supports DOT criteria.
Division 1.5 – Very Insensitive Substances with Mass Explosion Hazard
Very low sensitivity and difficult to initiate; however, they have the potential for a mass explosion.
PP + tyre adhesive combination; high adhesion on painted, steel, fiber, and plastic surfaces. 49 CFR / ICAO compliance and UV/fade resistance to meet DOT standards.
Division 1.6 – Extremely Insensitive Articles, No Mass Explosion Hazard
Covers extremely insensitive articles that do not present a mass explosion hazard.
EGEN Division 1.6 labels are produced with PP material and strong rubber adhesive; reliable adhesion on painted/steel/fiber/plastic surfaces. Compliant with 49 CFR and ICAO requirements; supports DOT compliance.
Adhesive Code: 33 – Hotmelt Rubber Tyre Adhesive
- Use: Ideal for rough and challenging surfaces.
- Suitable Surfaces: Rubber goods, tires, low-surface-energy materials, footwear, plastics, wood, HDPE and PP drums.
- Advantage: High performance at low temperatures and strong initial tack.
